1000 Mile SeeYa Challenge

So its been a while since I posted but once I complete my move into my new apartment I will have more time to be consistent on here.  In the mean time I have begun a new challenge.

Last week I got a pair of Vibram Five Finger SeeYa's! Its the "Racing Flat" version.  They are ridiculously light, there is hardly any rubber on the bottom and the velcro strap is not almost non existent.  I must say I am seriously impressed.  They feel like a glove, you literally feel more barefoot in these than you would in a pair of KSO. In the past I was able to run 1100 miles on a single pair of KSOs. One half of the pair of those KSO was requested by the Vibram design team to analyze my gait based on wear.  The other pair I kept and usually show it when I work a Marathon or Race expo.

So now I have a new goal.  I plan on attempting to run 1000 miles on a single pair of SeeYa's. I think its possible.  I did 8 miles today and it felt amazing, NO WEIGHT on my feet.  So I will be posting a weekly summary of my running distance as well as monthly pictures of the wear so people can get an idea of how they will be holding up.  I plan on averaging 25-35 miles a week as I build up to a possible 50k Ultra in April. They will be used strictly for running.  I will use my KSOs for the gym.  All runs will be outside and never on treadmills unless mother nature decides to throw lightning my way.

Should be interesting to see the results I am stoked! SeeYa!
